Where to Settle in Manitoba: in a big city, or in a small town?
In this lesson we will discuss advantages and disadvantages of living in a countryside in Manitoba. You will learn how to agree and disagree and will give a short presentation.
Sometimes newcomers to Manitoba find it difficult to find the best place to settle, to buy or build their first house. One family prefers all the conveniences of a big city such as Winnipeg, the other one enjoys raising their kids in a small community far from the highways and the city traffic. But luckily Canada is a country where even in a small town you can find all the necessary facilities for a happy life. A good advice can sometimes help too, so we asked a person who’s been living in this province for his entire life what are the advantages of living in a countryside.

Imagine that you are going to buy a house in the near future. After many discussions your family agreed on the two options to choose from. One house is located in a quiet area of Winnipeg and is close to the school that your child attends, the second one is in a small town close to the city and to your current work. Look at the map, surf the internet to find the nearby facilities, schools, hospitals, community centers, etc. Discuss all advantages and disadvantages of both properties and choose one of them.
